The Cosmetology program consists of three levels. Principles of Cosmetology allows the student the opportunity to learn the basic skills of Cosmetology and leadership skills. Design Principles of Cosmetology provides knowledge and skills in hair design, nail art, and cosmetic applications in a salon setting. Chemistry of Cosmetology provides experiences in chemical use and application. Cosmetology students are required to wear the appropriate attire for all lab experiences and use a Cosmetology kit to practice all laboratory assignments. Upon completing the 1500 hour Cosmetology program, students may apply and sit for the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology Examination to become a Licensed Cosmetologist.
