The winners are chosen by a committee of seniors, faculty and staff from nominations submitted by members of the Class of 2009. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, May 24. Congratulations, Mr. Diehl!
Stratford Alum Honored
Congratulations to 1989 Stratford graduate Cory Fleming for being inducted into the Metro Nashville Public Schools Sports Hall of Fame. Fleming was a multi-sport athlete at Stratford, most notably football and basketball. After graduating from Stratford, Fleming attended the University of Tennessee, where he was an All-SEC performer at wide receiver. After being drafted by the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, Fleming went on to a productive career in the Arena Football League with the Nashville Kats and Orlando Predators. In 2006, Fleming's #10 football jersey was retired by Stratford, just one of three former Spartans with that honor (Joseph Campbell, Michael Coleman). Fleming's induction ceremony took place April 14 at LP Field.
Ms. Sanders Receives Accolade Congratulations to Meghen Sanders for being named the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Humanities Outreach in Tennessee (HOT) Teacher of the Year. The award was given to Ms. Sanders based on her commitment to bringing arts into her classroom and for her dedication to her students.
